CHALLANGE
In 2023, FilmPositive Ltd. approached our agency to support the communication of the upcoming crime comedy Tonight We Kill. At the producer’s request—and in contrast to the usual practice in Hungary—the marketing campaign was to begin well before the distribution phase, with the goal of increasing cinema attendance.
SOLUTION
From the very start of filming, we launched a proactive, regular, and systematic press communication effort that lasted for nearly a year and a half. We drew editorial attention to key milestones in filming, post-production, and the premiere, while also offering the press creative and motion content related to the film.
In the summer of 2023, we organized a press day at the Pázmándy–Brauch Castle, the film’s shooting location, where journalists were given behind-the-scenes insights and the opportunity to interview both the creators and cast members. The press screening was held in the autumn of 2024, attended by representatives of the most widely read news portals, gossip media, and film platforms.
The campaign also included four social media channels—Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok—where we published more than 200 pieces of content. These ranged from creative short videos and custom visuals to behind-the-scenes glimpses of the filmmaking process. We also launched advertising campaigns and giveaways, and invited more than 60 influencers to the gala premiere.
RESULT
From the beginning of filming to the cinema premiere, Tonight We Kill generated nearly 700 media appearances, with articles and reports appearing in leading national news, gossip, and film outlets. The trailer proved especially successful, reaching over 1 million views on the production’s Facebook page.
